Let's go hiking!
I love color, texture and sound, but not leaf-blowers. I'm happiest with my hands in mud, clay or dirt type, or feeling the bark of a tree or the splash of a mountain stream. I'm happy with my life of creativity and friends, but would sure like to add a honey to the mix. Singing and playing music is one of my favorite things(guitar, piano, recorder) and the person I'm looking for has to at least appreciate it. I think I've worked through a bushel of baggage and have some idea of what I can bring to a relationship to work through the hard places. I like to think that all the crap I've gone through has made me wiser and more compassionate. No pressure - let's just go for a walk and see how it feels.
The best thing about the Willamette Valley is: oak savannah and incense cedars
If you could have a dinner party and invite any 4 people, dead or alive, who'd be coming? Vincent Van Gogh, Pablo Neruda, Frida Kahlo, Alice Walker
My favorite haunts are: the backside of Mt. Pisgah, river bike paths, Lost Creek on the McKenzie, Sweet Creek Falls.
What do you hate about Eugene? Smugness and smog.
Two books everyone should read are: How can I say everyone should read the books I enjoy? Hard to prescribe for every person - let's just leave it at everyone should read, and way more than two books!
What songs would be on the soundtrack of your life? Bach's Double Violin Concerto, Simon & Garfunkel's Bridge Over Troubled Water, Phil Ochs's When I'm Gone, Buffy Ste.Marie's I Want to be a Country Girl Again, John Gorka's You Might Like the Gypsy Life, Maria Muldaur's I'm a Woman, Aretha Franklin's Respect, Otis Redding's Dock of the Bay, Rachmaninov Vespers.
I consider myself an open-minded person, but my deal breakers are lying and pretense
Something I said I'd never do but did anyway was go online again to look for love
While driving I sometimes listen to music but always remember to sing along
When I die, I believe I will go home
When the rain gets to me, I go out in it
If people are what they eat, I'm a carrot with a dollop of chocolate
